USB 3.0 Ethernet Adapter is ideal for maximizing network access speeds. Computers with 3.0 USB port can use USB 3.0 to improve the transfer rates. USB 2.0 gigabit adapters are usually limited to maximum speeds of 480Mbps by the USB 2.0 bus, while USB 3.0 bus allows the USB3.0 (E-1000) to realize the full potential of a Gigabit network, since it isn’t limited by the USB bus speed. Testing in the Plugable adapter in a lab using the iperf application on a local server  yielded speeds of up to 890 Mbps. However, real-world situation speeds around 400-600 Mbps are more realistic. While accessing sites online, the bandwidth provided by your ISP will most likely determine your ultimate speeds.
